Terms of Service
Short, because there is not much to agree to. You use a set of static files in your own browser.

1. What Filestay is
Filestay is a collection of browser-based file tools published at filestay.app. The tools run entirely on your device. We do not receive, store, process or transmit your files.
There is no account, no subscription and no paid tier. The service is funded by advertising.
2. Your files are yours
We claim no rights over anything you open here, because we never receive it. You keep whatever rights you had in your files before and after using the site.
You are responsible for having the right to process the files you open. Do not use these tools to infringe copyright, to remove protection from material you do not own, or to break the law in your jurisdiction.
3. Provided as-is
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
In particular, and stated plainly because it matters: keep your originals. Image and PDF processing can fail, produce unexpected results, or run out of memory on a large file. Every tool here writes new files and never modifies your originals, but you should still not rely on an output as your only copy of anything.
4. No guarantee of acceptance
Some tools produce files intended for submission to third parties — passport and visa photos in particular. We implement the published technical requirements as accurately as we can, and cite the source for each one.
We cannot and do not guarantee that any authority will accept a file produced here.Acceptance depends on judgements no software can make, including expression, lighting, clothing and how recent a photograph is, and on requirements that change without notice. Filestay is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any government, embassy, consulate or visa authority, including the U.S. Department of State. Always check the current official requirement before you submit.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Filestay and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the service.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
6. Availability
We make no promise about uptime. The site is static and hosted on a CDN, so it is unusually reliable, and once installed it works with no connection at all — but it may be changed, moved or discontinued at any time.
7. Advertising
The site displays advertising through Google AdSense. Advertisements are labelled and kept visually separate from the tools. We do not control the content of individual advertisements; if you see one that appears to be a scam or malware, report it to hello@filestay.app with a screenshot and we will do what we can.
8. Open-source components
Filestay is built on open-source libraries under MIT, Apache 2.0, BSD and LGPL licences. They are listed with their licences on the licences page. Those licences govern those components; these terms govern the site as a whole.
9. Governing terms
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Continued use of the site after a change to these terms constitutes acceptance of the change; the date at the top of this page tells you when it last happened.
